   Ahmadinejad: Moussavi, Hashemi and Khatami are confronting me Tehran, June 4, IRNA – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in his debate with campaign hopeful Mir-Hossein Moussavi, "Today there is not only Mr. Moussavi confronting me, since there are 3 consecutive governments of Mr. Moussavi, Mr. Hashemi and Mr. Rafsanjani, all against me. He said, "I should begin with complaining about the very unjust, cruel, and rather full-of-unprecedented-big-lies campaign launched against a government, the like of which cannot be found in any post revolution era, either during a single government's tenure, or during any election campaign." Ahmadinejad said, "I guess the reason why it is so is that the friends that decided to enter the scene felt that they are incapable of presenting anything worthwhile in any positive field, or in the field of any constructive activity comparable to the unique services offered by this government, since at any given field, although they, too, have done certain things, but the services of this government have been several folds greater compared to those of any of them." He said, "In the past, these three were together; during the previous rounds both Mr. Moussavi supported Mr. Khatami and Mr. Khatami supported Mr. Hashemi, they were all together. From the first day that this government was established, too, their aggression aimed at attacking the government began. Of course the people know these things, but the youth, too, should know them." Ahmadinejad reiterated, "I am not faced with a singe candidate, but with a group, whose main axis is Mr. Hashemi, who moved against me relying on the cooperation of Mr. Moussavi and Mr. Khatami." He added, "The reason why this immense pressure was imposed against me during the course of the past four years, and it is even further intensified during the election campaign, I believe is due to just one thing: during the course of these three governments a number of management rings took shape that made the revolution deviate from its original path and from its value system. I'm not saying that no service was offered during the tenure of those three governments. Yes it did, but meanwhile, a movement took shape that considered itself the owner of the nation, the owner of the revolution, the ruler of the people, and gradually, with an open hand over public money." Ahmadinejad added, "They queued up against the government, but the government beat them. During the course of the past four years they tried to make the government seem incompetent, but relying on the grace of the Benevolent ALLAH, and the backing of the people, we have come thus far." The 10th Presidential Election hopeful said, "During the previous round of elections, both inside and outside the country my opponent candidate was supported. During the first days of this government, too, Mr. Hashemi forwarded a message to one of the kings in one of the littoral countries of the Persian Gulf, assuring him that this government would be toppled in six months, asking him not to be worried, but later some people went there and the matter was somehow resolved." He reiterated, "I once said jokingly it is a good thing that I, too, am a candidate, since otherwise what these other three dear hopefuls would have had to tell the people. In this round the competition is not among four candidates. It is three against one. In last night debate, too, both sides only spoke against one. But I think this is not logical.
