Tehran, June 10, IRNA -- President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Wednesday that enemies want to take revenge on the Iranian nation because of the outcome of the last elections. 'Their (enemies) problem and target is not Ahmadinejad; rather, they want to take revenge on the nation because Iranian nation's sin was its new choice in the former elections, thus breaking the closed circuit and prohibited zone and saying a big 'no' to arrogant and corrupt individuals," Ahmadinejad said in an address to hundreds of thousands of supporters and sympathizers in Tehran's Azadi Square. Ahmadinejad warned that the ill-wishers of the nation have now come to the scene to take revenge on the people. Announcing that elections are an important and decisive issue in the Islamic Republic, Ahmadinejad said that with Allah's grace, the nation will on June 12 say yet a 'bigger no' to the enemies, thus throwing them to the abyss of history. He said that contrary to other countries, elections in Iran mark a big and decisive choice of the Iranian nation. Elsewhere in his remarks, President Ahmadinejad criticized his elections rivals for vilifying and leveling accusations against him, saying he will in a 45-minute TV program respond to all charges against him. 1420**2322 End News / IRNA / News Code 537975 |
